Registered office: Queensbury House, 106 Queens Road, Brighton, BN1 3XF.

Effective from: 1 June 2026

This is v1.1, updated on 28 September 2026.

This Policy describes the browser storage used by the CogniScale website at cogniscale.com and the Control Centre at app.cogniscale.com.

1. What the website stores

The website does not currently set cookies. It does not use session storage or load an analytics service.

If your browser allows local storage, your choice in the cookie banner is stored there for up to 12 months. The stored information includes your choice, the time you made it and any category preferences you selected. This choice is not stored in a cookie. If browser storage is unavailable, the banner appears again on your next visit.

The website currently uses no optional cookie or analytics service. Your selection records a preference and does not change what the website loads.

2. The Control Centre (app.cogniscale.com)

The Control Centre does not set cookies. Local storage holds your sign-in session, selected organisation, drafts saved while editing AI colleagues, your last selected colleague profile, setup preferences, a random browser identifier used during connection setup and a record that you dismissed a Helper update notice. When available, it reads a CogniScale Helper access token from local storage to connect.

Session storage holds temporary sign-in and connection checks, sign-up progress, a five-minute cache of your selected organisation and membership details, whether you skipped either setup prompt, the platform you selected, and launch and continuity details for chat and terminal sessions, including the open terminal tabs and which tab is active. It also keeps a short-lived marker so a page does not reload repeatedly if an update leaves the browser with an old page. The Control Centre loads no advertising or analytics scripts.

3. Changing your choice

The banner does not reopen after you save a choice. To be asked again before the choice expires, clear this website's stored data in your browser settings. The banner will then appear again.
